For starters, you should know this book is written for a specific audience – singles who think they might get married sometime before they die. Despite this future-marriage focus we aren’t writing to couples, because there are a multiplicity of relationship books for couples (although this will benefit them too if they have the ears to hear). This book, however, is addressed to the wise individual who wants to plan for the awesome calling of marriage a bit farther out in advance.

Now if that’s not you, you will still find the truths contained in this book meaningful. You’ll just have to put up with the inconvenience of a book that’s not written directly to fit your life situation… and on many occasions you may find yourself thinking, “I wish I had heard this before I got married (or engaged or in a serious relationship… or divorced).”

If, on the other hand, you are one of those smart singles contemplating marriage sometime in future, we think you’re in for a treat. You see, my wife and I have been preparing college and career singles for their future marriage since 2003 and in our studies (as well as our personal marital experience) we’ve found forgiveness to be a critical issue that should be dealt with way out ahead of marriage.
